kennan dewitt, thought diffusing

Those repeating negative thoughts that intrude into one's daily life. A symbol, a reminder, a flash, a traumatic re-experience. Usual responses are ignoring, angering, fearing, denying, busying, or continuing through a pointless path of emotional pain. Thought Diffusing involves acknowledging the realty of what is, without necessarily agreeing with or believing the realty is fair or appropriate. For example, saying to oneself "that's true, I accept that, " or "In spite of that, I'm okay," or just "yep, moving forward"," or it's beyond my control." Just a thought...
