A Flint teen admitted killing his childhood friend, Laura Mae Weeks, because "I was just mad at her." "I hit her with a bat," Brian S. Byrd told Genesee Circuit Judge Geoffrey L. Neithercut on Thursday. Byrd's admission came as he pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the April 26 slaying.
